at school

it's friday night, and I'm at school working.

yup. I pretty much started living at the school this week, and I'll keep going until the end of the semester. It's actually quite nice, It helps me keep my sanity, and I get more work done. Speaking of work, I should get back to that. But I wanted to post a funny Michael w. smith song that's been in my head the last couple of days. kind of describes my life right now.

Love Me Good

Sometimes I feel like this world is just one big gigantic merry-go-round
You gotta hold on tight or you get hurled through the air
Yeah, life is a 3 ring circus With clowns and freaks and camels and such
And you never know when you might be attacked by the bears

Give me love, give me love
Love me good
Give me love, give me love
Love me good

Sometimes I feel like I'm afraid of my own shadow and then
Sometimes I can feel as bold as Gengis Khan
But I could never live in a yurt on a diet of Mongolian barbeque
I conqure the world for a moment Then the moment is gone

Let us take a moment now to bow our heads and pray
if only to give thanks for making it through another day

Sometimes I wish I was in a movie or some 70's TV thing
Where everything gets neatly wrapped by the end of the show
Yeah, but this ain't Hollywood and this sure ain't the Brady Bunch
and how this plot's gonna all pan out I don't really know

Give me love, give me love
Love me good
Give me love, give me love
Love me good

Lord, light the fire within me afresh. I want to do so much more for you then just giving thanks for making it through the day, although these days, I must admit I am quite thankful for that.

5 Thoughts for today

1. Communication is a good thing. And it is definitely cool to talk things over with others, because we can only see part of the picture ourselves. I think that's why God established the Church, and why relationships are so important to life. brainstorming is cool too, and fun.

2. I've been getting all excited about buying a new mac towards the end of the semester. But presently I've been reminded by Jim that I should wait until I get a job first. I'll probably be provided with a computer for studio use, and likely won't need too powerful of a computer for home use..... wise advice. but I still waaant one.

3. Bone is freakin awesome. Tis a graphic novel I'm reading now, and I must say the best part is that I have no idea what's coming next, unlike LOTR or Narnia where so many people have read it before me. I love Bone, such a good story, so funny. Dan, you are my hero.

4. I'm at the part in Job where God begins to speak. It's a challenging book to read, but this makes it all worthwhile. Still not sure what I think of Elihu; he's right about God more often then the other three, but he still misjudges Job, and he's pretty arrogant. Additionally neither Job nor God Himself talk about the guy.

5. So my girlfriend's dad seems to like me. He's the one who's been inviting me to all of the family get-togethers, which is really cool. I'm quite stoked about that. He doesn't talk too much though, and mostly in chinese. hmmmmm, maybe I should bring back the high five. yeah, definitely the high five.

think I'll play you a song from Bedouin SoundClash.

When The Night Feels My Song

I'm on the rocky road,
Heading down off the mountain slope,
And as my steps echo (echo) louder than before.

Another day is done,
Say good-bye to the setting sun,
See what i found, turn back to the ground just like before.

Hey hey heeeyyy, hey hey hey (hey!)
HEY Beautiful Day (hey! hey!)
HEY Beautiful Day.
Heeeeeyyyy, hey hey hey (hey!)
HEY Beautiful Day (hey! hey!)
HEY Beautiful Day.

When the night feels my song,
I'll be home, I'll be home.

Into the yonder grove,
Twist and turn on a lonley road.
In the twilight the day turns to night and i'm alone.
And when the light has left,
I'm not sure of my every step.
Follow the wind that pushes me west back to my bed.

Hey hey heeeyyy, hey hey hey (hey!)
HEY Beautiful Day (hey! hey!)
HEY Beautiful Day.
Heeeyyy, hey hey hey (hey!)
HEY Beautiful Day (hey! hey!)
HEY Beautiful Day.

When the night feels my song,
I'll be home, I'll be home.

When the night feels my song,
I'll be home, I'll be home.

When the night feels my song,
I'll be home, I'll be home.

raining

Banana Pancakes - Jack Johnson

Well can't you see that it's just raining
there ain't no need to go outside...
But Baby, You hardly even notice
when I try to show you
this song is meant to keep ya
from doing what you're supposed to
waking up too early
Maybe we can sleep in
make you banana pancakes
pretend like it's the weekend now

And we can pretend it all the time, yeah
Can't you see that it's just raining
there ain't no need to go outside

But just maybe,
halaka ukulele
mama made a baby
Really dont mind the practice
cause you're my little lady
lady lady love me
cause I love to lay here lazy
we could close the curtains
pretend like there's no world outside

And we can pretend it all the time
and Cant you see that it's just raining
there ain't no need to go outside
ain't no need ain't no need Mmmm MMmmm
Can't you see, can't you see
rain all day
and I dont mind.

But the telephone singing
ringing it's too early
don't pick it up
we don't need to we got everything
we need right here
and everything we need is enough
just so easy
when the whole world fits inside of your arms
do we really need to pay attention to the alarm?
wake up slow, mmm mmm wake up slow
But baby You hardly even notice
when I try to show you
this song is meant to keep ya
from doing what you're supposed to
waking up too early
Maybe we can sleep in
make you banana pancakes
pretend like its the weekend now

And we can pretend it all the time
Cant you see that its just raining
aint no need to go outside
aint no need aint no need
rain all day
and i really really really don't mind
Can't you see, can't you see,
you gotta wake up slow
